Cuba Validation: EMTCT of HIV and Congenital Syphilis, MOH Cuba (2015)

In July 2015, the IATT hosted a webinar with WHO, PAHO and the Ministry of Health of Cuba to discuss the validation process for the dual elimination of MTCT of HIV and syphilis. A total of 68 participants joined the webinar from a range of countries including China, Ethiopia, DRC, Namibia and Nigeria.     Returning HIV-exposed infants to care in Malawi - Presentation (2016)

    This presentation from IAS 2016 highlights a promising practice to improve retention of HIV-exposed infants (HEI) in the postnatal care continuum. The pilot integrated infant defaulter tracing into the Malawi's Option B+ programme. Description of the intervention and initial results are included here.

    Male Study Circles: Men as Change Agents in Malawi - Promising Practice (2018)

    This promising practice report highlights male study circles, a programme supported by OHTA, the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation (EGPAF) in collaboration with the Ministry of Health (MOH) and District Health Offices. The 188 study circles in three districts aimed to improve linkages between the community and facility as well as promote women’s utilization of ANC and PMTCT services. Lessons learned from the implementation, key outcomes and successes and considerations for scale up are included in this review.

    Returning adults and children on ART and HIV-exposed infants to care in Malawi - Poster (2017)

    This poster presented at ICASA 2017 highlights a promising intervention to improve client retention in HIV programmes. Beginning in 2015 in Malawi, a collaboration between the Ministry of Health, UNICEF, and UNC-Project Malawi introduced a community-based Expert Client (EC) intervention with a particular focus on HIV-exposed infants and mothers enrolled in the national PMTCT programme.
