The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria; 2018; English.
This pamphlet provides information on the current HIV landscape for young women and adolescent girls, justifying the HER movement and The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria’s bold target to reduce new HIV infections in this population by 58% in 13 African countries over five years. HER adopts a girl-centred, rights-based approach, with services that reflect the varying risks and opportunities for women and girls by age, country, and community context. Other areas of HER include comprehensive programming, adolescent-friendly HIV prevention; life skills, financial literacy and ‘know your rights’ education; cash incentives, peer networks, mentors and other social protection programs; community engagement, and more.
