Cuba Validation: IATT Webinar Summary and Q&A Transcript, (2015)

In July 2015, the IATT hosted a webinar with WHO, PAHO and the Ministry of Health of Cuba to discuss the validation process for the dual elimination of MTCT of HIV and syphilis. A total of 68 participants joined the webinar from a range of countries including China, Ethiopia, DRC, Namibia and Nigeria.     Republic of Liberia National HIV and AIDS Strategic Plan 2015 - 2020

    The strategic plan focuses on preventing new HIV infections in order to maintain a low HIV prevalence in the next six years. The NSP aims to reduce new HIV infections by 50% by 2020; intensify the provision of quality and accessible HIV prevention information and services for key populations; and also accelerate actions to eliminate mother-to-child transmission of HIV by 2020, including placing positive mothers on lifelong antiretroviral therapy (Option B+) as the preferred regime of treatment for HIV positive pregnant women.

    Option B+ M&E Framework (July 2015)

    On July 29, 2015, the IATT organized a webinar to discuss the key components of the Option B+ M&E Framework. The webinar also featured country examples from Kenya and Uganda to share lessons learned on implementing some of the practices recommended in the framework. More than 80 participants attended the webinar from a wide range of countries including Liberia, Cameroon, Cote d'Ivoire, Uganda, Kenya and South Africa to name a few.
